Rock Creek International School Second grade Spanish class visited the Dominican Embassy in the month of February for a presentation on the country.
Dominican Republic celebrated it’ s Independence the 27th of February.
Michele Morales, Counselor, Carlos Diaz, First Secretary and Ada Hernández , Minister Counselor and Cultural Attaché of the Embassy presented a slide show to the children and explained it’s history, sports, different foods, beaches and other topics of interest to them. The children received cookies shaped as a flag of the Dominican Republic.

Dominican Embassy.
Henson Valley Montessori School of Maryland to visit the Dominican Embassy in Washington, DC.
In an effort to teach about the Dominican culture to Dominican- American and American children, the Cultural Section of the Embassy of the Dominican Republic invited the students from Henson Valley Montessori School of Maryland to visit the Dominican Embassy in Washington, DC.
In this event Henson Valley Montessori School had the opportunity to present to the Staff of the Embassy Cultural Section an extensive exposition about the Dominican Republic and a dance of Merengue with dominican folk dresses to the song “Para Ti” by Juan Luis Guerra.
After the children presentation there was proyected a video about the Dominican Republic after which they have the opportunity to ask different questions about the country.
Before leaving, the children enjoy typical Dominican food lunch prepared by a Dominican Chef.
